PARENT RESPONSIBLITIES

To ensure the safety and efficiency of our transportation system, parents and guardians are expected to review this handbook with their students and fulfill the following responsibilities:

  • Daily Readiness: Ensure students arrive at their assigned bus stop 5–10 minutes before the scheduled pick-up time.
  • Safety Supervision: Please note that the district is responsible for students only once they have boarded the bus. Parents are responsible for student safety while traveling to and waiting at the bus stop.
  • Behavioral Support: Reinforce appropriate bus behavior and teach students to follow all transportation rules and respect district staff.
  • Policy Cooperation: Support the district’s efforts to streamline routes and uphold safety policies. Please refrain from asking drivers to make unscheduled stops, as they are not authorized to deviate from their assigned routes.
  • Emergency Planning: Maintain a backup plan for your student in the event they arrive home and no one is available to meet them.
  • Home Visibility: Ensure your house number is clearly visible from the road to assist drivers in identifying stops.
