The mandatory criminal history review (fingerprinting) must be initiated prior to your CDL renewal (and its required employment endorsements). You MUST begin the online application process and arrange for fingerprinting. All necessary information and specific procedures are available on the Criminal History Review Unit Website (https://www.nj.gov/education/crimhist). Your renewal cannot be completed without this documentation. Please be sure to leave sufficient time between submitting the application and the expiration of your CDL, as the processing typically requires a couple of weeks.
