For New Jersey state reporting purposes, all out of district contracted employees (such as ESS staff, Delta T Staff Assistants, SROs, Cafeteria Staff) that work for other companies and are not paid through ERP by us, need to be added into ERP. To enter these contracted employees:
- Log into ERP
- Click on Modules
- Click on HRS Human Resource / Payroll
- Click on New Jersey – HRS
- Click on NJ Smart
- Click on NJ Smart Contracted Employees
- Click on the + sign to add a new contracted employee
- Click on the box: Contracted Employee (the system will then issue an ID number that starts with the letters CE
- Complete the page. NOTE: Status should be Active, Employment Status is Code #01383 Employed or Affiliated with Organization, Certification Status is usually No, Gifted & Talented is No.
- After you have completed this page, click the Save Icon (looks like an old floppy disk).
- On this same page, click on the Assignments box (over on the right). (Note, you must save first before click on the Assigments box).
You should now be on the Employee Assignments – New Jersey page.
- Complete this page. NOTE: Job Code should be one of the Purchased Services job codes.
- Click the Save Icon.
You are done adding a contracted employee.
