All staff development workshops will need to be board approved. Usually, only three people send me requests for workshop approvals: The secretary to the Supervisor of English (currently Deborah Penkalski), the secretary to the Assistant Superintendent (currently Joy White) and the Supervisor of Special Services (currently Kevin Kelly). These approval requests are sent in the form of a spreadsheet to match the spreadsheet that is added to the board agenda. Therefore, upon receipt of these requests, you just need to copy and paste the workshops to the board agenda resolution.

Once these workshops have been board approved, then these must be added to a workshop spreadsheet that is in my Google drive . To access the spreadsheet, go to Google Drive/Eileenosborne Drive, Workshops Approved folder, then click on the document for the current year titled: Workshops for YYYY-YYYY.

The document is broken out into monthly spreadsheets. Click on the month (tab at the bottom of the spreadsheet) to access the current month.

Then copy the data from the board approval and paste this into the spreadsheet.

Once this is done, you will need to Email Collaborators by clicking on File/Email/Email Collaborators. Type a quick note in the box that comes up, such as “Please see the workshop approvals from the most recent board meeting.” Then click the Send button.

The secretary to the Supervisor of English is responsible for approving time entry requests for workshops and the BA/Board Secretary (currently Danielle Matovski) is responsible for final approval of these time entry requests. This spreadsheet lets them know what workshops were board approved and which staff members were board approved to attend these workshops. The spreadsheet also takes the place of a contract letter needing to be attached to the time entry. Therefore, you do NOT need to create and send board approval letters for Workshop Presenters and Attendees.
